Explorers: Entering 2nd - 3rd grade

Entering 2-3 rd grades

At last you're ready to spend a week at camp! Your counselor will help you tune in to what God is doing in your life through various camp activities such as: playing games, creek walking, splashing around in the pool, hiking, singing, and doing Bible Encounters centered on the love of Jesus Christ. Not quite ready to stay the whole week? You have the option to come for half the week, which ends on Wednesday morning at 9:30. So get ready to listen up!

July 13-19, July 20-26, July 27-August 2, August 3-9. Cost $365 ($245 ½ week).

Pathfinders: Entering 4th - 6th grade

Entering 4-6 th grades

Plug in your headphones for a whole week of adventures at camp! You can enjoy swimming, creek walking, camping out, low ropes, hiking, campfires, outrageous skits, meaningful Bible Encounters, and singing fun songs! Mt. Cross is known for our ability to facilitate small groups, come build friendships with your cabin mates that will last a lifetime. If excitement is what you're looking for, then Mt. Cross is the place to be to plug in!

Tree Toppers: Entering 4th - 6th grade

Entering 4-6 th grades

Come up in a tree with Zacchaeus so you too can hear what Jesus has to say. Don't just camp under the redwoods when you can stay up in the redwoods! As a Tree Topper you get all of the perks of staying at camp with the bonus of sleeping in the redwoods. Tree Toppers will also enjoy water balloon volleyball, singing, slip and slide, swimming, games, hiking, challenge course, reading God's word, and many other activities that make this week everyone will want to hear about!

Trailblazers: 7th & 8th grade

Entering 7-9th grades

Whether coming back to camp or coming for the first time, it's time to turn it up! You'll enjoy a little of everything our site has to offer; campouts, swimming, games, hiking, creek walks, challenge course and more. All campers will have the opportunity to experience the following special things just for Trailblazers: High Ropes - you'll have the chance to play on high ropes elements like our climbing tower and swing; Servant Project - where you'll have a FUN opportunity to learn the importance of serving one another; and a Beach Day - this day you and your team of counselors will journey to a local state beach via city bus where you'll have a chance to play with your friends at the beach and catch a wave! The great thing about Trailblazers is while doing all these fun and adventurous activities, you'll have the chance to turn up your faith by encountering God in new ways and through people you'll never forget.

Jr. High Beach Camp and Sr. High Beach Camp

Entering 7-12 th grades

If your ultimate summer camp experience involves the beach, surfing, bonfires, and learning more about God then this is it! You'll have the chance to get connected to the local community while camping out at Christ Lutheran Church in Aptos, playing on the beach, cooking out over a camp stove, tackling a local servant project and digging into God's word. Not to mention the opportunity to participate in the high ropes course on the first day of camp! Get connected to friends, Jesus, and creation!

Jr. Beach (7-9 th ): July 13-19, July 20-26, July 27-August 2, August 3-9. Cost: Cost $395

Sr. Beach (10-12 th ): July 6-11. Cost: $395. (Note program ends Friday)

Junior Staff

Entering 10-12 th

Have you ever thought of being a camp counselor, broadcasting the Good News? Do you want a chance to go behind the scenes and see what it takes to be a camp counselor? Then our new Jr. Staff Program is just right for you! Our newly remodeled Jr. Staff Program offers you a chance to be trained by our very own summer staff. You along with your cabin mates will have the chance to learn how to lead basic program elements such as Morning Worship, Bible Encounter, All Camp Game, Campfire and more. Your week will also include the chance to use our low and high ropes course, visit one of the Santa Cruz beaches and camp out under the beautiful Redwood trees. Then get ready to SHOUT IT OUT!

NEW!! No-Worries Weekend!

Cost: $50 per weekend

If you're a camper at Mt. Cross and you would like to come to camp for more than one week in a row, you now have the opportunity to stay the weekend between! You will spend an extra night at Mt. Cross allowing you to be ready to start your second week without going home!! Meals and Supervision will be provided!! Parents, YES it's true, we'd love to have our kids for not one but TWO weeks!! Contact the Mt. Cross office for registration.

Other Summer Camping Experiences

Family Camp

Do you want a chance to get away from the static of life? Family camp is a great time to tune in to your family as you spend a week in the redwoods. This is a fun time filled with camp activities like hiking, challenge course, crafts, Bible encounters, campfires and times of worship. Plus free time to relax and unwind in God's beautiful creation. Join the Mt. Cross staff and other families from around the area for this time of pure family fun!

June 29- July 4. Cost: $165/person, children 5 and under free.

Campgrounds Available during Family Camp!

Grab your tents, RV's or what ever you like to camp with and come to Mt. Cross for a week of excitement. You can plug into the Mt. Cross Family Camp as much or as little as you'd like!!! But why would you want to miss great meals and programming???? Sign up NOW, space is limited!!!

Special Friends: Adults-18 years old and older

Adults 18 and over

This program is specifically designed for adults with developmental disabilities. Campers are matched with staff and volunteers for a week full of activities. You'll enjoy recreational activities outside, swimming, craft projects, campfires, singing and a chance listen to Jesus. You'll also have the opportunity to visit Roaring Camp Railroad. Come and enjoy a week in the Redwoods!!!

June 15-20. Cost: $575.

Blue Slide Camp - Lutheran Outdoor Ministires North Coast

Lutheran Outdoor Ministries - Northcoast has been providing life-affirming and faith-building outdoor camp experiences for youth in northern California for more than a quarter of a century. Come find out what has made Blue Slide Camp such a unique, inviting, and renewing experience for youth and for families over the past two decades.   Our “Family Camp” provides a weekend of relaxation, celebration, feasting, singing, prayer, and spiritual renewal with workshops led by skilled presenters as well as plenty of time for rest and recreation.  Bring your tent, RV, or share one of the dormitory style cabins with another family or two. Youth Camp at Blue Slide is an experience of welcoming community, non-stop fun, fabulous food, campfire singing, stories, laughter, friends you will never forget, and energetic counselors who come with fantastic Christian attitude!  Open to all youth entering fourth through twelfth grades in the fall.

EXTREME FUN, EXTREME ACTION, EXTREME FAITH! Extreme is a week long adventure program, to help your group grow in their faith while taking part in activities around the Santa Cruz Mountains and Monterey Bay . We will take a look at our faith through service projects, Bible Encounters, challenge course, surfing, ocean kayaking, hanging out at the beach, and everyday camp fun! EXTREME FUN is waiting for YOU!!!

June 22-27 (other weeks available upon request). Cost: $395 campers, $195 adults .

Special Friends Servants: High School Youth Groups

This is a weeklong servant event designed to pair High School youth with developmentally disabled campers. Activities during the week include worship, hikes, swimming, sports, a trip to Roaring Camp Railroad, and making new friends while growing spiritually. This servant event offers individuals an opportunity to learn valuable leadership skills while forming a close community with others at camp. This week will leave impressions on your heart that will last forever!

Junior High Youth Gathering

Join us for our new program, the District Junior High Youth Gathering for the LCMS!
Cost: $155 per participant

Looking for a unique experience for your youth group? According to the Webster Dictionary Adventure is defined as an exciting and unusual experience. This is your chance to custom design your dream week with Mt. Cross Ministries. Groups can choose from backpacking, challenge course, surfing, kayaking, service projects and many more options. CONFIRMATION CAMPS CHARIS (June 22-27) & SHALOM (July6-11)

Charis:

Charis is a Greek word that means grace, gift, and thankfulness. At Charis, each youth group works with their own pastors, sponsors, and designated counselors during morning sessions. This experience provides confirmation groups the opportunity to grow closer together through Bible study, activities, games, and special projects. The remainder of the time is spent in cabin groups doing regular camp activities.

Sharing, Healing, Affirmation, Love, Oneness, and Mission – these themes guide the confirmation group through an amazing week of new relationships and learning experiences. Youth groups, pastors, sponsors, and counselors work together to provide a time of sharing and growing.
